Zombie Poem

Zombies are wicked
zombies are cool
Get enough zombies
and you too may rule.
Zombies are clever
zombies are mean
Some things about zombies
should NEVER be seen.
Zombies are lonely
zombies are sad
Zombies want friends
to make their days glad.
Zombies seek darkness
they vanish in light
Come hang out with zombies
but careful; they bite.

Scenes from University

Ethan wanted to be a success like his grandfather had been but to be honest, it had taken a push from his big brother to get him out the door. Getting tired of the constant greedy whining Allan declared an ultimatum, "You enroll in University or you can sleep outside! We don't have room for you or for a new computer!"
Seeing the situation for what it was, Ethan raced like a man possessed and got himself enrolled in med school. He wanted to make a good impression on his first day so he got there two hours early.
At a buddy's mixer he pulled out all the stops and got to networking. Not being all that charismatic he made a terrible faux pas while talking to one of the most respected phys. ed students around. The ensuing carnage was frightful.
Then there was that day that someone left the WMD unlocked and Ethan's curiosity got the better of him. Again, the carnage was unspeakable.
He knew it was better to focus on his studies and not on insulting jocks or setting the world on fire. During a phone call home he mentioned how rough it was; studying diseases, anatomy, redheads, blondes... but he knew he had to persevere if he was to succeed.
The news that Ethan was doing so well filled Allan with delight and hope for the future. He decided a compromise was in order. When Ethan got home for Winter Break he found something special by the TV. Overjoyed by this step into the 21st Century Ethan grabbed a controller and joined Willie for a few hours on the couch.

Young Dr. Ficus

Remembering his grandfather Andrew's glorious medical career Ethan found a decent med school and got to work. During his third year Ethan found himself a very frustrating case. Mr. Boneapart came to see him with several strange symptoms that eluded diagnosis. It did not help that he refused to take his prescription. Ethan was very patient at first.
But as summer turned into fall he found himself becoming more and more short-tempered with his challenging patient. Still, Boneapart kept coming back to see him. There were times Ethan had to remind him that he was just a student and that he was better off seeing a real doctor.
One night while Ethan was brushing his teeth in the dorm bathroom Boneapart came for a visit. "Look, if you'd just use your eyes you'd see I'm in my shorts and getting ready for bed." Ethan grumbled. "Oh... wait. Nevermind."
Then one day Boneapart came over for a farewell visit. He seemed much improved, which pleased and confused Ethan at the same time. It turned out that Boneapart had been suffering from mineral and vitamin deficiency. Now that he was on a calcium-rich diet he was doing much better. Ethan was relieved and promised himself he'd wait until he got his degree before getting another patient.
